Un Jour En France

"Life is too short to drink bad wine." It’s a saying that the French are known to live by and the same principle by which Un Jour En France stocks it shelves, while also adhering to the second part of the proverb - “And also to eat bad food.” Located off a cobblestone street near Vienna’s main shopping strip, those in search of a French food fix can find relief in this little Paris. French expat David Schuster opened the store in early 2012, and has been extending his range of specialty products ever since. In stock are the brave food inventions that only the French dare to create like black olive and ginger jam, Crème de Salidou (caramel and salted butter paste) along with standard favorites like traditional herbs from the province, mustards, confits, teas, sweets and a vast range of flavored syrups. Hard-to-get French aperitifs, beers and spirits are also available. Tucked away at the back of the shop is the Great Wall of French Wine, which Schuster will be more than happy to tell you about. Breakfasts are held on the first Saturday of every month, with food and wine tastings every other Wednesday.
