Lena Hoschek

Upon entering this charming boutique in the Spittelberg neighborhood, one immediately becomes aware that there is a theme going on here. Owner Lena Hoschek has always had an intense passion for movie stars from the '40s and '50s, as well as for pin-ups, and this love is clearly manifest in the clothing she sells. Although her clothes have a distinct retro-look, Ms. Hoschek says that her seasonal collections are always inspired by the mood of the moment. Her cuts are very feminine, with an emphasis on comfort and wearability. Evidently this combination works very well, as Lena Hoschek has clients from all over Europe, and is especially popular in Switzerland. Ms. Hoschek always wants her clothes to "feel right," and not just in a physical way. All of her wares undergo a rigorous quality control process, which also takes social responsibility and sustainability into account. A wide assortment of fabrics are used to create designs that range from a trashy-chic aesthetic involving laser or digital prints to traditional alpine-wear made of wool. Interestingly, 10 percent of Ms. Hoschek's revenue comes from her sale of dirndls, the national dress for Austrian women. Always looking for a new project, Ms. Hoschek is currently designing and producing of her own line of sunglasses in cooperation with Alexandra Giselbrecht and Klaus Huber from Robert La Roche. This boutique also carries leather wear from the Italian line, Label Numero 10.Show lessRead more
