Established in the mid-19th century, Knize touts itself as being the first official menswear brand. In 1910, Adolf Loos designed the store on the Graben, which has provided generations of Austrian and European nobility with some of the world's finest suits, blazers and dinner clothes, as well as ties and shirts. Each individual suit, be it single or double-breasted, takes at least ten days to manufacture and involves some 7000 stitches. Many traditional clothing stores make claims about combining classic elegance with contemporary flair, but few can pull it off like Knize. Here, it is understood that fashion evolves slowly, that change in style usually comes in the form of subtle shifts, rather than a dramatic break from previous ideals. In addition to its tailoring services and prêt-à-porter collection of high end men's clothing, Knize also sells grooming products and has its own line of colognes.Show lessRead more
