Das Möbel

Back in 1998, Lothar Trierenburg and three friends took a leap of faith and opened up the Cafe Möbel on the Burggasse. At the time they had no idea that their concept of a cafe equipped with different pieces of designer furniture would receive such an enthusiastic response. The initial idea was that the cafe would offer a platform for young Austrian designers to exhibit their prototypes and get feedback from real-life customers. All furniture is for sale, although you usually cannot purchase the specific chair you fell in love with while sitting in it (unless you're a smooth talker). It wasn't too long before Cafe Möbel's popularity made the owners realize that a bigger space was needed, one devoted entirely to furniture. In 2006, the Möbel Store opened its doors on the Gumpendorferstrasse. The store's three levels offer a vast selection of furniture, but also serve as a place where designers and potential customers can come together. Mr. Trierenburg firmly believes that the price of a product should be justified by its quality, which is why he makes every effort to meet the craftsmen who make the products he sells. This is quality control as it should be. Show lessRead more
