Bi-Rite Market

When Bi-Rite Market opened in 1964, it was a standard local grocery store selling potato chips and other common items. By the early 2000s it began the transformation to its current iteration as a neighborhood market—a one-stop shop for everything from produce, home supplies, freshly prepared foods, and locally produced gourmet goods. Bi-Rite encourages customers to ask four questions when buying food: Who made it? Where was it made? How was it made? And, how does it taste?  The market is really committed to offering delicious, responsibly made, often local products made with traditional methods. There is an in-house kitchen at the market that makes dozens of items from sandwiches pasta salads to hot meals. When you stop in expect an employee to offer slices of fresh fruit, and keep an eye out for local farmers offering samples of their products.Show lessRead more
