Claire Naa

The story of Claire and Arnaud's jewelry line begins on a cold winter night… Sitting around the table with a friend from Japan, the wee hours were spent folding paper into origami animals, and by next morning, the seed for Origami Jewellery had been planted. Having found a manufacturer in Japan to re-create the delicate animals in gold and silver, the original collection featured the recognizable tsuru - the crane - which is a symbol of peace in Japan. Before the couple finally opened their own shop, they were already designing and consigning their wares at stores around Paris for several years. Since 2010, they have been selling their designs in their very own shop, located just a stone's throw from the famous Place de Vosges. The quirky interior houses the entire collection of designs, which has expanded to include a wide variety of origami animals cast in silver, gold, and colorful epoxy resin, such as swans, rabbits, bats, and even a triceratops. There are also baubles inspired by the planar surfaces of folded paper, such as diamond-shaped rings made of precious metals and pendants and cufflinks of geometrical shapes. Another source of ideas has been the paper itself, and a new collection plays on the textures and patterns created by the Braille language. Claire and Arnaud also like to support other talented artists, who's work they showcase in their shop.Show lessRead more
