Monsieur Lacenaire

When a men's clothing line is inspired by Pierre-François Lacenaire, a French bourgeois poet slash criminal of the 19th century, you know the collection is bound to be playful, witty and refined, with just a hint of danger in it. Monsieur Lacenaire lives up to those expectations. Fueled by her fascination for knits and backed by her work experience with Hermès and Kenzo, designer Garance Broca launched Monsieur Lacenaire in 2011 with a modest collection of eight sweaters. Today, you'll find the entire line of whimsical knitwear and accessories in the small but cozy Marais flagship boutique, which opened in June 2014. Emphasis is placed on high quality materials (Broca sources only the finest raw materials like Peruvian alpaca, Italian merino wool and Japanese cotton) and artisanal craftsmanship. Their products have made their way to concept stores and renowned boutiques in Paris, Berlin, New York and Japan. To channel that casual French-chic look, check out their signature Teddy knitted jacket in alpaca wool, or their Norwegian-inspired Eiger sweater. But, honestly, anything you pick out from Monsieur Lacenaire is bound to be a winner.Show lessRead more
