La Galerie de Lunettes

As a gallery-turned-optical shop, the artistic vibe is still very much alive at La Galerie de Lunettes, where eyeglasses now occupy the space where canvases used to hang. It's hard not to give this store a second glance when passing by their window on Rue Yves Toudic in the 10th arrondissement, thanks to architects Dumazer and Lafallisse, who have created an interior that summons up its former life as an art gallery - sleek, spartan, and dazzling in its simplicity. The use of light-colored maple wood along the walls creates a natural and warm atmosphere, and recessed niches along the wall display select eyewear not often seen in your typical optical store. You'll be spoiled for choice by their vast collection of frames from around the world. American brands Garrett Leight and LA Eyeworks can be found here, as well as Germany's Schnuchel and Mykita, France's Very French Gangster and Waiting for the Sun, England's Linda Farrow and Prism London, or Japan's Eyevan 7285 and Yellows Plus.Show lessRead more
