Alix Petit is a self-confessed fashion outsider, yet that doesn't stop her from hashing out her own patterns and fabrics which she uses in her Heimstone collections. Her first clothing line, Heim, came out in 2006; a year later she unveiled the first Heimstone boutique in Paris. There are currently two shops in the city, one in the sixth arrondissement and the other in the first arrondissement. Her art and textile education, coupled with her love for travel, lends Petit a unique and eccentric style that seamlessly translates to Heimstone's clientele. The uninhibited and the assumed, the traveler and the homebody, the Parisian and the foreigner; this store is effortlessly a chameleon, adaptable to each personality a woman might possess. Never without her inspirational travelogue, Petit designs each line with colorful fabrics, beautiful designs and mix-matched textures pulling from worldly sights and memories. Apparel such as elegant dresses or rocker-chic leather vests found on the hangers at Heimstone are sometimes the results of collaborations with talented Italian and French designers. All products in the stores are manufactured in France or the rest of Europe while much of the rustic interior decor found inside the shops comes from the US.  Show lessRead more
