Centre Commercial

In French, a centre commercial is a large shopping mall filled with many stores, elevators and people. In the 10th district of Paris on Rue de Marseille, Centre Commercial is a boutique where shopping is relaxed and the sole similarity to a traditional centre commercial is finding a variety of wares at one stop. Men’s and women’s clothing are displayed on wooden shelves, second-hand bicycles lean against exposed pipes, vintage furniture can be found hanging from the walls, and artwork and books are presented on a neatly organized back table. More than just a shop, childhood friends and founders Sébastien Kopp and Ghislain Morillion use the loft-style store to partner with artists and writers, allowing them to share their work and launch their ideas. The two began partnering together through the production of the eco-conscious shoe brand Veja in 2004. Consistent with the mission behind Veja, the duo connects social consciousness with fashion. They say that it's no longer enough to provide beautiful clothing. Customers want to know where their clothes come from, how and under what conditions they were produced. For this reason, Centre Commercial chooses brands that also care about social and environmental change. Sourced from France, England and Denmark, the clothing in Centre Commercial is classic and preppy with an artistic flair. Leather belts, khaki shorts, classic chemises, and of course Veja shoes are just a few items you will find under the shop’s glass roof.Show lessRead more
