Ever wonder how Parisian children manage to look so effortlessly chic at such a young age? The answer is they've probably been on a shopping spree at Bonton. This three-story boutique for children is run by Irène and Thomas Cohen, son and daughter-in-law of the owners of the clothing line Bonpoint and fellow concept store Merci. Since the 2010 opening of its flagship store in the Marais, Bonton has become an essential shopping destination for hip children and their equally stylish parents. Inside you'll find a colorful collection of trendy clothes for children aged 0-12, as well as a candy section, a furniture line complete with bedroom linen, a children's hairdresser and even a vintage photo booth. Its shelves are stocked with original items ranging from bubblegum dispensers to temporary tattoos. Even if you don't have kids, it's a great place to browse for gifts and trinkets for your inner child. Prices may be steep, but since celebrities like Sofia Coppola, Stella McCartney and Vanessa Paradis have all been spotted shopping here, you're in good company.Show lessRead more

As chain stores fill the streetscape the world over, this project is a celebration of the independent retailer. All stores featured on Shopikon have been hand-picked by our editors who have visited thousands of stores, and only the best of the bunch make it into our guide. We evaluate stores based on product selection, atmosphere, dedication to their specialty, and overall shopping experience, making sure that they are all worth your trip!
