Nestled along the Quai de Valmy in the 10th arrondissement is Artazart, an art and design bookstore whose brightly colored façade is difficult to miss. Originally a successful online shop dedicated to the graphic arts, founders Jérome Fournel and Carl Huguenin opened a physical store in 2000 near Canal St. Martin. It has since become a haven of inspiration for graphic artists, photographers, illustrators and creative thinkers. The space is huge and inviting, and the shelves are packed with an eclectic collection of books on every possible artistic genre, intriguing bric-a-brac, paper goods, one-of-a-kind postcards, accessories and Polaroid cameras. Not only is it a place where you can find anything from Pantone color strips to children's books, but Artazart is also extremely dependable, as it is open seven days a week - a gesture that is much appreciated by curious bookstore browsers and bibliophiles and a rarity in the French retail world.Show lessRead more
