Lisa Brock opened the first Zoë boutique in Princeton, New Jersey in 1995. While that may seem like an unusual location for a luxury boutique, one look at Brock’s Brooklyn store and you’ll see, she knows what she’s doing when it comes to fashion. Almost every influential fashion designer is represented at Zoë, including Celine, Stella McCartney, Proenza Schouler, and Givenchy. Zoë caters to women that love fashion and want a one-stop shop for all of their luxury needs. Clients tend to live in the neighborhood, popping in frequently to see the latest Erdem floral print dress or Chloé leather satchel. The handbag selection is particularly fetching, picking up all the major trends and styles and still offering a wide selection of easy, wearable bags. The majority of the looks are for the practical woman. Despite the luxury labels, the women wearing these clothes are more likely to walk or take the subway before they set foot in a town-car.Show lessRead more

As chain stores fill the streetscape the world over, this project is a celebration of the independent retailer. All stores featured on Shopikon have been hand-picked by our editors who have visited thousands of stores, and only the best of the bunch make it into our guide. We evaluate stores based on product selection, atmosphere, dedication to their specialty, and overall shopping experience, making sure that they are all worth your trip!
