Utility Canvas

Jillian and Hal Grano are canvas experts. The couple has chosen the versatile material as their medium of expression and created an incredible array of practical items for a creative lifestyle - emphasis on life. The concept was born when Jillian needed a tote bag for art school that had space for both a portfolio and materials. Bizarrely, there was no such thing in the market, so she created her own. She and Hal quickly discovered a “common passion” for canvas and started designing all manner of bags, clothing, blankets and home furnishings. As the concept and collection grew they decided to open a brick and mortar store, and Utility Canvas was born in 2011. The owners draw on their background in design and fashion and their experiences traveling and living in New York to meld together the worlds of style and function. Their customers appreciate practicality and versatility, and are the greatest source of inspiration for Hal and Jillian, who continue to personally design each piece in Utility Canvas. Together they blend their ethos of pragmatic style and extensive knowledge of canvas to create items that feel good, look great and serve a purpose.  Show lessRead more
