Species by the Thousands

Erica Bradbury already had an extensive background in making art before opening her own shop. After earning undergraduate and masters degrees in painting she established her jewelry line, baptized it Species by the Thousands and set to work hewing simple line sketches and rustic, earthy aesthetics into silver and gold rings, earrings, bracelets and necklaces. In 2012, the line grew into a store by the same name, where Bradbury maintains her studio and welcomes conscientious customers who are drawn in by the stories and significance behind the pieces. In addition to her own jewelry line, Bradbury makes candles, perfume oils and room sprays, and sells items in a similar vein crafted by friends. Everything in the shop is hand-made and the owner tends towards the unusual, often inspired by magic or mystery, surrounding herself with beautiful dream catchers and crystals that inform her own designs. The result is a selection of items that appeal to those who shun mass market shopping in favor of the personal, the unique and the magical. Show lessRead more
