New York has a lot of great wine shops, but few if any can match Sip’s dedication to small, independent wineries and obscure producers. Sip’s shelves are stocked with a diverse range of Old World and New World wines from under $10 to over $200 per bottle. “We try hundreds of wines to find the best artisanal, sustainable, organic and biodynamic wines the world has to offer,” said owner Nick DiMinno, who opened the Fifth Avenue shop in 2005 after a career as a sommelier and wine buyer for two Manhattan restaurants. “We specialize in lesser known wines from smaller producers, but we also have some highly sought after bottlings from acclaimed wineries as well.” Many of the clever chalk-drawings on the sidewalk sandwich board are created by Sip staff who moonlight as artists.Show lessRead more

All stores featured on Shopikon have been hand-picked by our editors who have visited thousands of stores, and only the best of the bunch make it into our guide. We evaluate stores based on product selection, atmosphere, dedication to their specialty, and overall shopping experience, making sure that they are all worth your trip!
