Pippin Vintage Jewelry

In 2003, Rachel and Steve Cooper started a mission to fill their 17th Street vintage jewelry shop with rich, timeless objects full of history and beauty. Peeking into Pippin Vintage Jewelry today, it seems they have succeeded. Pippin—named for a family dog—carries tray after tray of vintage earrings, cufflinks, necklaces, bracelets and rings in gold, silver, and less expensive metals as well as those set with every imaginable stone. Besides a great variety of vintage costume jewelry they also have a wide array of lovely leather goods—antique handbags, wallets, and gloves—as well as hats and other accessories. Far from a run-down second-hand store, Pippin’s goods are carefully selected to showcase only the highest quality items that retain their original luster despite the years. The Coopers acquire most of their antiques in separate lots from a West Massachusetts auction house, and then group their finds into this delightful little shop.Show lessRead more

As chain stores fill the streetscape the world over, this project is a celebration of the independent retailer. All stores featured on Shopikon have been hand-picked by our editors who have visited thousands of stores, and only the best of the bunch make it into our guide. We evaluate stores based on product selection, atmosphere, dedication to their specialty, and overall shopping experience, making sure that they are all worth your trip!
