Pino's Prime Meats

    In the early 20th century, Pino Cinquemani traveled from Sicily to New York on his honeymoon—and never left. He fell in love with the city, took over a shop space from his cousin and opened Pino’s Prime Meats. Years later Pino continues to offer a fine selection of meats, now with some help from his two sons, Sal and Leo. In an age of mass-produced meat and supermarket chill the shop is a refreshing reminder of the virtues of the old-fashioned and hand-made. All of the meat is prepared by the experienced staff: the sausages are made using five ingredients or less and the dried meat is hung from the ceiling to age properly. Over the last few decades the store has seen the neighborhood evolve, and Pino and his sons have seen generations grow up.
