Pink Olive

Grace Kang opened Pink Olive, an impressive little gift shop near Tompkins Square Park, being inspired by her niece and her own favorite color combination. Having come up through the retail world as a buyer for Barney’s, Bloomingdale’s, and Saks Fifth Avenue, it’s pretty safe to say Kang knows what she’s doing. Her personal love for gift giving suffuses a space stocked with unique and whimsical items for any occasion, including birthdays, weddings, anniversaries. Small, independent designers, many of whom are local, produce much of Pink Olive's inventory, which includes stationary, letterpress cards, and home goods. Though the East Village store as a focus on items for infants and toddlers, a second Park Slope location focuses largely on gifts for couples and families with children. Pink Olive reflects Kang’s belief that home is a haven; her interesting and continuously changing stock is imbued by and reflects that ideal.Show lessRead more
