Neue Galerie Design Shop

This sophisticated shop is located within the Neue Galerie, a museum focused on German and Austrian art and design from the early twentieth-century. Browse items culled from and inspired by the Biedermeier, Fin-de-Siècle Vienna, and the iconic Wiener Werkstätte. Modern designers also create exclusive pieces for the museum, like the Michele Oka Doner bronze leaf wall sconce inspired by Dagobert Peche, and the Sigmund Freud Sunshades by New York's Selima Optique. Josef Hoffmann silver designed in 1906 and a porcelain tea set adorned with porcelain heads, originally created by Ena Rottenberg in 1930, are both notable collectibles in the shop. There’s even a little something for the elegant and artful dog, from the Neue Hund Treats in a reusable tin by Harry Barker to the Shearling Harness Coat crafted by contemporary leathergoods designer R.Horn of Vienna. After enjoying the breathtaking paintings by Gustav Klimt in the permanent galleries, make sure not to skip this art lover’s haven on the ground floor.Show lessRead more
