Owners Lana Sexton and Henry Stozek have a knack for collecting natural organic and classic shapes, especially those of American designers. Their shop, Nest Interiors, has been open since 2004 and is an offshoot of Sexton’s own business as an interior designer, so the advice is more than friendly; it’s informed. Stop by Nest to see their vast selection of home accent furnishings, luxurious art objects, hand-blown glassware, decorator pillows and fabrics, as well as an eclectic mix of tableware, knick-knacks, jewelry, lighting fixtures, and more. Since Sexton and Stozek both collect items they would like in their own homes, the selection includes those trending toward familiar forms and sophisticated colors. Look for original pieces by furniture designer Palo Samko, photography by local artists, and even a little taxidermy thrown in for balance. Even the Nest mascot, Sexton’s and Stozek’s dog, Fig, is welcoming. Show lessRead more

As chain stores fill the streetscape the world over, this project is a celebration of the independent retailer. All stores featured on Shopikon have been hand-picked by our editors who have visited thousands of stores, and only the best of the bunch make it into our guide. We evaluate stores based on product selection, atmosphere, dedication to their specialty, and overall shopping experience, making sure that they are all worth your trip!
