Liza Sherman Antiques

The large, unusual items in Liza Sherman Antiques come from across the globe, spanning generations, but somehow their distant origins remain distinct enough to resonate perfectly at home. Turkish Dervish dresses, coffee plantation sorting mats, a French drafting table, and Art Deco film studio lights all make an appearance in this Greenwich Village shop on Bedford Street. And it’s all so gorgeous! Some of the more unusual pieces called even more attention to their origins: A set of chairs made from African oil barrels, chandeliers assembled from industrial conveyor belts, an American flag with just 13 stars, and 1940s bathing suits that have been framed as works of art. Liza Sherman also features many pieces of stunning French furniture, Egyptian glass, and Turkish robes, rugs, and other textiles and a few of the shop’s original creations from re-purposed industrial parts have been copied by big name manufacturers.Show lessRead more
