Let There Be Neon

Entering Let There Be Neon is to step into the history of a ubiquitous but little noticed art form that has illuminated city streets for decades. The shop is part workshop, part gallery, and features a continually changing collage of neon signs, artistic designs and novelties. Founded in 1972 by Rudi Stern and Charles Schwartz, Let There Be Neon played a crucial role in the preservation of neon design and the application of its techniques in aesthetic design and artwork. Today the shop mixes art and commercial ventures, offering custom fabrication, repairs, retail and display pieces for private consumers, businesses and television and film productions. Everything is made by hand in the workshop, and the enthusiasm for neon is palpable amidst the bright colors and various projects. Let There Be Neon is proud of the work they do and welcomes visitors to stop in and see the possibilities of light art. The message is clear: "We love neon, and we want everyone else to love it too!"   Show lessRead more
