John Derian Dry Goods

John Derian first opened his doors in 1989 on the beautiful tree-lined 2nd street by the Bowery while looking for a workspace for his decoupage production. Having moved into a storefront to expand his decoupage line, he used the front of the space to open his shop and began working out of the back. Gravitating towards handmade, antique, and natural materials, John Derian and his production team craft decoupage trays, lamps, plates, paperweights, and other home goods. Stop by John Derian Dry Goods next door for textiles, furniture, rugs and art. Both destination stores, travelers and locals alike flock here for beautiful objects such as prints and originals by woodblock artist Hugo Guinness, 18th century-inspired pottery by Astier de Villatte, vintage reproduction lighting by Robert Ogden, and handmade leather poofs from Morocco. Both shops evoke the feeling of walking through an old French market, a vacation from time and space without ever leaving New York City.Show lessRead more
