Fish Tales

If it's not enough to have dozens of delicious fresh fish choices, a live lobster tank, and mounds of crab legs, clams and mussels on display, Fishtales also offers fantastic salads, homemade soups, sushi-making ingredients and at least five kinds of smoked trout and salmon. The expert staff, led by owner John Addis, has been feeding this Court Street neighborhoods since the 1990s, and it shows. “We’re like uncles to several hundred kids in the neighborhood. Every kid gets candy,” said Addis, holding a red gummy fish. But candy is the last thing on a customer's mind in the cozy, well organized shop. Addis hand selects seafood from the market and delivers it himself. All the wraps, soups, and salads are homemade. Addis and Fish Tales have also been featured on the Food Network several times, and for good reason. Packages of mesquite and hickory smoking chips sit near a rack of pamphlets describing dozens of different seafood recipes like braised bluefish with red onions, blackened mahi-mahi, or broiled rainbow trout with lemon butter sacue. Fish Tales is a good spot to catch dinner.Show lessRead more
