Ceci Cela Patisserie

Ceci Cela owner and pastry chef Laurent Dupal traveled the world mastering the regional cooking of France before he opened the doors to this Soho institution 20 years ago. Since then, the business has expanded by word of mouth to supply restaurants, hotels and coffee shops. Dupal has adopted a hands-on approach, making sure Ceci Cela’s patrons are happy, keeping this place buzzing as the neighborhood changes. Seasonal items are constantly added to the menu like the Tropical Cake, Ceci Cela’s latest pineapple coconut creation. Classic French pastries and yummy croissant sandwiches are a favorite, but make sure to try their plain croissants, which were rated as the best in the city by the famous food blog, Serious Eats. Table service is also offered in a cozy setting that resembles a charming Manhattan flat decorated by a homesick Parisian.Show lessRead more

As chain stores fill the streetscape the world over, this project is a celebration of the independent retailer. All stores featured on Shopikon have been hand-picked by our editors who have visited thousands of stores, and only the best of the bunch make it into our guide. We evaluate stores based on product selection, atmosphere, dedication to their specialty, and overall shopping experience, making sure that they are all worth your trip!
