Brooklyn Reclamation

Hunting for unique pieces? Trying to reuse and recycle what we’ve already got? Then head to Brooklyn Reclamation, a neat place chock full of interesting merchandise that runs the gamut from practical to playful. The store is run by eight siblings from Greenpoint that grew up making fun of their father for the eclectic furniture and knick knacks he was accumulating in their garage. Eventually they stopped making fun of him and grew increasingly interested in the things he was finding, and in April of 2011 they decided to open up their own reclaimed furniture emporium featuring industrial, mid-century and primitive items. They carry a little bit of everything from a little bit of everywhere—from auctions in West Virginia to products made by local craftsmen. In addition, they offer to custom make special orders for those who have specific pieces in mind. Everything is constructed from reclaimed components, so you will find tables made from old bowling lanes and kitchen islands made from highway tunnel cables. They find all of the materials themselves, so you can always learn the story behind your favorite pieces.Show lessRead more
