Brooklyn Flea

Established in 2008 by Jonathan Butler and Eric Demby, Brooklyn Flea has become one of the most popular fixtures on the New York City weekend activity roster. Part of its popularity comes from the fact that Brooklyn Flea is an antidote to boring shopping that takes place year-round: from April through Thanksgiving the event is held in Fort Greene (Saturdays) and Williamsburg (Sundays). During the winter months, the action relocates to the Williamsburg Savings Bank Tower in Fort Greene, a massive event space where foragers can indulge their treasure-hunting needs on three floors. And there are treasures galore. You can easily spend an entire Saturday sifting through old LPs, modeling vintage jewelry, or pondering how that hand-carved red rocking chair would look next to your (imaginary) fire-place. Of course, you wouldn’t want to do so without adequate sustenance, so it’s fortunate that Brooklyn Flea is also home to an exciting array of artisanal food stands.Show lessRead more
