Bond Street Chocolate
Bond Street Chocolate

In case any chocolate-obsessed foodies have made the grievous error of passing this cocoa-colored nook on E. 4th St., it’s time to make a pilgrimage. Former pastry chef Lynda Stern initially launched her gourmet chocolate business from her Bond Street home for a practical reason: restaurant kitchens make poor nurseries. Now she oversees a veritable shrine to Theobroma cacao and, yes, she does have her very own line of edible deities! If you’re not Homer Simpson and can’t handle consuming a sacrilegious silver-dusted, dark chocolate Buddha, Ganesh, or Jesus, more traditional chocolate delicacies like bourbon truffles, Szechuan peppercorn tiles, or dark-chocolate toffee bars are available to satisfy your sweet (or savory) tooth. Chef Stern is constantly experimenting with new flavor combinations as well as forms, so stopping by regularly is often rewarded with new tastes. Although you can purchase Stern’s chocolates at some gourmet marketplaces like Dean & Deluca, you’ll want to inhale the delightfully overwhelming aroma of the sanctum itself and peruse the chef’s extraordinary concoctions firsthand.Show lessRead moreAlex
