Oroboro Store

Handcrafted goods from around the world, unique found objects, textiles with a luxe feel and one-of-a-kind look - these are the obvious draws to Williamsburg shop Oroboro Store, which opened in 2011. Owner April Hughes is a seasoned stylist who used her expertise in mixing rich colors and textures to create a wonderland full of clothing, accessories, jewelry, books textiles and ceramics as well as a small apothecary of scents and things for both body and home. Offerings that fill the shop come from brands ranging from the popular and well-known to the obscure, such as A Detacher, Hannahk, Suzannah Wainhouse and Agnes Baddoo. Those with an appreciation for the unusual and the desire to wear or decorate with items that tell a story will fall in love with Oroboro Store, which feels more like a travel fantasy than a shop.Show lessRead more

As chain stores fill the streetscape the world over, this project is a celebration of the independent retailer. All stores featured on Shopikon have been hand-picked by our editors who have visited thousands of stores, and only the best of the bunch make it into our guide. We evaluate stores based on product selection, atmosphere, dedication to their specialty, and overall shopping experience, making sure that they are all worth your trip!
