Barker Black

A new generation of men are learning to appreciation the quiet luxury of fine leather shoes. We highly recommend they check out Barker Black. Opened in 2005, this classic boutique showcases wingtips, oxfords, and brogues made from some of the finest French and Italian leathers, not to mention English suedes. A skull and crossbone motif permeates through the collection, like a loafer with multiple silver crossbones, a shoe that pairs equally well with both a blue jean and a dress slack. Velvet loafers with skull and crossbone crest would make a good addition to any man’s wardrobe, and paired with a dinner jacket would pretty much guarantee you the title of most distinguished guest of the evening. Ties, socks, and bowties are perked up with unique prints like spades, lightning bolts, and of course the requisite skull. Just the something extra that gets you noticed by the woman at the end of the bar. Show lessRead more

As chain stores fill the streetscape the world over, this project is a celebration of the independent retailer. All stores featured on Shopikon have been hand-picked by our editors who have visited thousands of stores, and only the best of the bunch make it into our guide. We evaluate stores based on product selection, atmosphere, dedication to their specialty, and overall shopping experience, making sure that they are all worth your trip!
