    In 1997, renowned New York restauranteur Keith McNally opened Balthazar Bakery next door to his Balthazar Restaurant on Prince Street. Originally established as an afterthought to what has become the most popular French bistro on the island, Mr. McNally had the idea to sell baked bread here on the side. However, Balthazar Bakery quickly flourished and has become the neighborhood hotspot for breakfast and classic Parisian treats on the go.
