Review of Babesta Cribz in NEW YORK
Once upon a time, cool baby clothes were hard to come by. But riding that first wave of nifty toddler duds, Babesta introduced parents to trendy children’s wear that celebrates their uniqueness and unbridled joy. There’s nothing wrong with dressing like Little Lord Fauntleroy one day, but how about mixing it up with an “I Believe in Snuffleupagus” T-shirt or a Sgt. Pepper-inspired fleece jacket? Babesta’s clothing, hats, shoes, and accessories conjure a bit of funky urban culture, connecting downtown New York style with independent artists and designers. Starting as a virtual business in 2004, Babesta opened its first store in 2006, then a second in 2009. The West Broadway location is dedicated to clothing and accessories, while the Warren Street shop offers a wide selection of practical furniture, strollers, and kid-friendly décor. Babesta also hosts events, such as “Extreme Playdates,” “Paint Your Own Munny,” and the “Postcard Project,” a fund-raising event for the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council.
