Themes & Variations

When Themes & Variations opened its doors in 1984 in London’s Notting Hill neighborhood, it was safe to say that there was literally nothing else like it in the vicinity. This fact remains as the gallery has continued to carve its impressive niche of Post-war and Contemporary art and design. Their focus is on Scandinavian and Italian decorative arts and furniture. Prime examples of the gallery’s unique eye include pieces such as Fernando and Humberto Campana’s ‘Cake’ Stool, a chair made out of arranged stuffed animal tigers and bears, and works by Renato Bassoli,  Raymond Cohen and Piero Fornassetti can be found listed on their roster of showcased designers.Show lessRead more
