The Last Tuesday Society

The original Last Tuesday Society was founded by William James at Harvard University in 1878 and described itself as a ‘pataphysical organization’ – a scientific way of stating their interest in all things beyond the realm of the physical. Flash forward to present day, the organization can still be found in full force on London’s Mare Street. Revived in 2009 by multidisciplinary artist Viktor Wynd, known as The Chancellor, and avant-garde impresario Suzette Field, The Tribune, The Last Tuesday Society is a space that is difficult to define; a gallery, shop, curiosity museum, séance setting, and lecture space all rolled into one. The selection on display is a sight to be seen – from bat skeletons to stuffed tigers, it is the stuff of only the wildest dreams.Show lessRead more
