Review of Skandium in LONDON
Since its founding in 1999, Skandium has set about its vision of expanding the presence of Scandinavian furniture on London’s retail design scene. One look within the spacious Brompton Road store and something tells you that partners Christina Schmidt and Magnus Englund knew just how to deliver. As exclusive UK agents of desirable brands like Asplund, Hackman, Le Klint and Design House Stockholm, Skandium displays a covetable range of coffee tables, armchairs and sofas. Both design integrity and the longevity of its pieces, are key to the store’s ethos. IKEA it isn’t! Contemporary products are merged with a strong collection of heritage pieces. So, whether it’s a modern Louis Poulsen table lamp you’re looking for, or an investment piece from Artek or italla, you’ll find both at Skandium. Along with furniture and textiles, the shop also stocks a selection of kitchen and tableware, so even if a Marrimeko rug is beyond your price range, you’ll be able to take away an affordable piece of Scandinavian style.
