Put simply, Nook, established in 2012 by three friends, is a collection of “the things they like.” Fortunately for Stoke Newington Church Street, the things they like happen to be a covetable collection of lifestyle products from Kaweco fountain pens to HAY flower pots. With backgrounds in styling, retail management and PR, owners Jack, Kate and Gemma launched Nook to become the shop that the area was missing. Popular with the creative professionals who dominate the neighborhood, Nook has a following and you can see why. Stop in for a sheet of gift wrap and there’s a strong chance you’ll wind up wondering how you managed to leave with a bottle of wild rose body oil, a stoneware carafe and a limited ornamental wooden owl by Matt Pugh. Inspired by the things they see on their travels and utilizing the reach of the internet to source new products, Jack says, “We are always looking at whether or not we’d have an item in our own home. We all have to love it to stock it.” And if they do, chances are that you will too.Show lessRead more
