The key to good vintage is a discerning eye, something Mendoza’s founder, Leroy Hamilton, has spent years crafting. His love of the 1960s prompted him to turn his market stall of vintage wares into a full-fledged store on London’s bustling Brick Lane. His early success revealed a gap in the market for smart, 60s inspired menswear with a modern sensibility – and so Mendoza’s Modernist label was born. Inspired by different sub-cultural styles from fashion, music and art of the 60s and 70s, Modernist plays the perfect compliment to the modern man's wardrobe by creating a truly unique menswear shopping experience. The garments might look prim and polished, but Mendoza’s roster of fans screams rock’n roll, with Kaiser Chiefs and Primal Scream giving their stamp of approval by sporting Mendoza pieces at the famed Glastonbury festival. And if one of a kind finds aren’t enough to make for a special outfit, be sure to strike up a conversation with Scott, Leroy’s right hand man slash sales associate whose knowledge of alternative fabrics and possible alterations aims to please.Show lessRead more
