Hostem opened its doors in 2009, relishing the challenge of delivering a diverse collection of directional menswear under one roof. Owner James Brown decided to create a store of his own after becoming tired of having to visit Liberty or Selfridges to find variety. Hostem has since attracted a following for its diverse collection of contemporary brands that include Rick Owens, Haider Ackermann, Alice Waese and Visvim. The store’s intent to contribute to a richer shopping experience for the modern man even extends itself to catering for the quirkier gent. Niche colognes, tonics and snuffs sit alongside the array of shirts, jackets, shoes and jewelry. Hostem’s staff is extremely knowledgeable about their designers. This allows the store to be proud of its communal approach to buying which relies on all of the personalities within the store. In a bespoke space created by hip interior design duo, JAMESPLUMB, it’s often hard to concentrate on the clothes themselves. Think Dickensian chic and you’ve got an idea of the interior that Hostem call their very own ‘rough luxe’.Show lessRead more
