Duke of Uke

In 2006, Matthew Reynolds sensed a shift in the popularity of the humble ukulele. Utilizing his business background he established Duke of Uke, London’s one and only ukulele and banjo emporium. Located a block from Brick Lane, the store deals in every type of ukulele imaginable. There are amazing pink and blue Makala’s, mahogany Kiwaya’s, Hawaiian GString ukes, and a choice of soprano, tenor, concert, or baritone models. However, the store wasn’t created solely as a retail space but also as a community hub. Duke of Uke has been known to act as a gallery space as well as home for live gigs and ukulele tuition. The shop teaches beginner, intermediate, and expert classes most evenings, and with highly proficient tutors, Duke of Uke is the best place to learn. With the ukulele now the go-to instrument of any self-respecting new folk band, Duke of Uke can give itself a pat on the back for helping the instrument back out of the shadows.Show lessRead more
