After Noah

When it comes to products with as much history as toys, telephones and furniture, some would say they don’t make them like they used to. However, since 1990, After Noah has been catering to the discerning traditionalist with their collection of antiques and more recently, classic 50s & 60s teak, rosewood and walnut furniture, lovingly restored in their own on-site workshop, along with beautiful new ranges from the likes of G Plan Vintage and Ercol, plus homeware, gifts and a whole shop full of children’s toys & games. Aided by the inspiration of a trip to the vintage stores of New York’s Soho in the late ‘80s, Zoë Candlin set up After Noah together with furniture restorer Matthew Crawford, and later vintage enthusiasts Simon Tarr and Nathalie Hankey. The Angel store is a true treasure trove of desirable curiosities. There are exciting playthings for children, such as polystyrene gliders, bottle rockets and plastic soldiers, along with the ever relevant rubber duck. And if adults aren’t tickled by the toys from their past, then they can rely on After Noah’s range of cool mid-century modern sofas, Eames chairs, Danish desks and chic lighting to catch their attention. At its essence it’s the neighbourhood vintage and 20th Century lifestyle store. Beautiful furniture, retro toys and odd gifts - what’s not to love about After Noah?Show lessRead more
