Review
Maggie Owen launched her eponymous costume jewelry business in Hampshire in 2003 before relocating to a converted dairy in Bloomsbury in 2006. The aim was to fill the void of bold international talent and innovation she sensed in the UK jewelry market at the time. The story goes, that having been beguiled by the quality and design of a necklace in a boutique in the South of France, Maggie set about finding its creator. Her journey led her to Paris and to designer Philippe Ferrandis. And to the beginning of one of the store’s close collaborations with leading modern designers. Maggie Owens now takes pride in stocking a range of Philippe Ferrandis earrings, necklaces, and rings in its Rugby Street store. With an ever-expanding creative roster, Owens displays the work of a host of innovative, international costume jewelry designers – no cheap trinkets on show here! Behind the vibrant indigo of the shop’s facade is a carefully curated collection picked by Maggie herself. Rings, bangles and bracelets from designers like Anton Heunis and Simon Harrison coexist alongside hand picked accessories from Margo Selby.
