Vintage Galore

Inspired by holidays spent in Scandinavia as a boy, Erik Zimmerman began collecting mid-century design in the form of furniture, lighting, crockery and accessories. His love for these classic objects comes across in the considered and welcoming arrangement of his delightful Sanderstrasse boutique, Vintage Galore. The shop had a former incarnation in the window display of a nearby Neukölln design studio and the move into the light and airy double-fronted premises in 2012 has finally permitted the optimum shopping experience to take shape. With ample room for display, it is easy to picture the teak tables, chairs, sideboards and cupboards in your own home. Alongside notable Danish designers such as Jo Hammerborg and unquestionably stylish pieces, you'll find a touch of whimsy in the form of artfully arranged vintage spectacles, quirky illustrations and the odd piece of taxidermy. A well selected clothing and shoe rack allow the Vintage Galore regular the opportunity to choose an outfit to match his classic fixtures and fittings.Show lessRead more

As chain stores fill the streetscape the world over, this project is a celebration of the independent retailer. All stores featured on Shopikon have been hand-picked by our editors who have visited thousands of stores, and only the best of the bunch make it into our guide. We evaluate stores based on product selection, atmosphere, dedication to their specialty, and overall shopping experience, making sure that they are all worth your trip!
