With their exquisite selection of paper products and writing materials, a visit to RSVP will have you wanting to pen a handwritten correspondence over typing out an email. Open since 2001 in Berlin's Mitte neighborhood, owner Meike Wander seeks out products from all over the world, filling her quaint shop with a unique stationery selection as well as writing instruments from Caran d'Ache, Ohto and Koh-I-Noor. Favoring handmade products by independent manufacturers, RSVP holds treasures like letterpress or steel engraved-printed cards and limited edition stationery from international designers and artists. In 2014, this second RSVP store opened in the same street, this time focusing on wrapping and storing materials. The new branch, which adopts the same minimalist aesthetic as the first store, offers a wide array of colorful wrapping paper, ribbons, desk organizers and boxes of all shapes and sizes displayed neatly on timber shelves. It's also a haven for craft-related accessories such as envelopes, stamps, paper bags, washi tape, and gift tags.Show lessRead more

As chain stores fill the streetscape the world over, this project is a celebration of the independent retailer. All stores featured on Shopikon have been hand-picked by our editors who have visited thousands of stores, and only the best of the bunch make it into our guide. We evaluate stores based on product selection, atmosphere, dedication to their specialty, and overall shopping experience, making sure that they are all worth your trip!
