Our reliance on email has made handwritten correspondence a precious commodity, something Meike Wander espouses in her shop. Rather than relying on wholesalers for supply, she scours the globe for the sort of stationary items that elevate letter writing to an art form. Modest and delightfully utilitarian in appearance, RSVP was opened in 2001 as Meike saw a lack of neat little stationary shops in Mitte. The small space ensures that only the most sought after products are selected. Stepping into what looks like a letter writer's ultimate dream supply cupboard, one can find South Korean post-it memos, classic Caran d'Ache pens, letter paper with individually printed insect motifs or individually printed greeting cards created using a hot-metal setting print technique. Classic items such as Moleskine notebooks are always in stock whereas artist produced stationary is limited so there is always something and new and exciting to discover.Show lessRead more

As chain stores fill the streetscape the world over, this project is a celebration of the independent retailer. All stores featured on Shopikon have been hand-picked by our editors who have visited thousands of stores, and only the best of the bunch make it into our guide. We evaluate stores based on product selection, atmosphere, dedication to their specialty, and overall shopping experience, making sure that they are all worth your trip!
