A graffiti artist can explain to you that overkill is a term for what happens when paint is under too much pressure, and an excess is released from the can. The Overkill shop does excess in a delightful fashion: sneaker freak style. The futuristic ground floor interior is an explosion of color and fresh design, housing many brands of graffiti supplies and a huge range of popular and limited edition shoes. In 2008 founder Thomas Peiser broke through the ceiling from the shop level into the apartment above and you can now climb up the central metal staircase into a retro-style Berlin apartment where a hand-picked selection of streetwear is set off by vintage wallpapers and old ghettoblasters. Sneaker lovers be warned: this place will fuel your addiction. Thomas has to fight the urge to 'get high on his own supply' due to regular product launches during which they celebrate exclusive releases by brands like Nike, Adidas and Saucony.Show lessRead more
