Goldhahn und Sampson

At Goldhahn and Sampson food lovers can find an extraordinary selection of international and regional delicacies. Shelves are filled with wines, chocolates, relishes, oils, cheeses, sausages, exotic spices, and special breads from all over Germany—including traditional pumpernickel from Wesphalia. „We offer many products that you cannot find anywhere else“, says Andreas Klöckner, one of the three owners. But Goldhahn and Sampson is more than just a fine grocery store. A large cozy room at the back of this Prenzlauer Berg establishment houses a huge selection of cook books, including many English titles. Customers who want to roll up their sleeves and get to work can enroll in one of the cooking classes which are held every three or four days in the large kitchen also located in the shop. Foodies have even been known to travel to Berlin from abroad for theses classes, which is not surprising considering the range of tasty topics. Smells from Korea, Iran or Austria are often wafting from the kitchen classroom and the shop also offers courses on themes like how to make a knife „scary sharp“ and how to cook with organic ingredients. Native English speakers give many of the courses.Show lessRead more
