Autorenbuchhandlung Berlin

Along a charming walkway just by the outdoor cafe scene at Savignyplatz, is a real 'author's bookstore' housed under three railway arches. A great amount of thought and time goes into the handpicked selection of over 28,000 tomes which include poetry, philosophy, literature and cultural writing. The original store, in place since the seventies, was founded by several nobel prize winning authors including Günter Grass. In 2007 the current owners took the store to its present location where they created a calm and reflective space with an adjacent literary cafe. Here authors, actors and regular customers come to write, think, socialize and be refreshed. Regular lectures have become a popular feature and the store posts information about these to its facebook page.Show lessRead more

All stores featured on Shopikon have been hand-picked by our editors who have visited thousands of stores, and only the best of the bunch make it into our guide. We evaluate stores based on product selection, atmosphere, dedication to their specialty, and overall shopping experience, making sure that they are all worth your trip!
