La Tercera

They say that all good things come in threes. They also say that they come in small packages. Both hold true for this holy trinity of style behind Basilica de Santa Maria del Mar, an area enjoying a resurgence in independent boutiques. Started in 2013 by a trio of exciting Barcelona designers, La Tercera (meaning "The Third") is partly made up of the two names behind classy Catalan clothing label Name: Irene Sabaté and Clara Aspachs. Now reborn in their third space, they’re joined by Olga Dubovik and her handsewn Lubochka leather handbags. Cutting unique patterns from their in-house workshop, the fashion-forward friends showcase classical pleats and delicate folds as well as accessories, shoes and children’s clothes from Swedish Hasbeens, The Seeker, Piñata Pum and those sharing a local production philosophy. Irene points out that “some people think we’re radicals because of our homegrown commitment, but it’s simply easier to oversee high-quality products enjoying a close relationship with our family of designers.” While in Born also check out neighbouring shops Ivori and Colmado - because three is the magic number.Show lessRead more
