La Cuina d'en Garriga

Helena Garriga grew up surrounded by relics of her family’s former fame as a soda syphon manufacturer, which made the Garrigas an integral part of the traditional Spanish pre-lunch vermut. Helena’s nostalgia for bygone times combines with her passion for authentic local produce “made with the hands and with the heart” to form the lifeblood of La Cuina d’en Garriga. It’s just few steps from busy Passeig de Gràcia to La Cuina d’en Garriga, but the country-kitchen tranquillity inside is like stepping back in time. La Cuina’s suppliers are namechecked like old friends, from Irene, who provides the free-range eggs, to farmer Manel, who drives his home-grown organic fruit and vegetables down from the Lleida countryside twice a week. Fresh produce is accompanied by foie gras, acorn-fed jamón ibérico, cured meats and cheeses from Catalonia and beyond, plus Baluard’s artesanal breads and an extensive range of preserves, oils and wines - a perfect taste of rural Catalonia in the heart of the city.Show lessRead more
